• How to compute the size of the Conv layer?

Supoose:

1. S:= # Stride 
2. N := output size
3. F:= Filter size
4. P:=Padding size

Think about all these heads

$W+2P=(F-1)+(N-1)*S+1$

which gives 

$N=\frac{W+2P-F}{S}+1$

Famous CS231n only gives you the formula but does not tell you why.
